Job Description

The Marketing Content Specialist will produce copy for a wide range of content including , blog posts, whitepapers, infographics, emails, online ads, social posts, and more. Also, this position will work alongside and assist the Digital Marketing Coordinator by proofing copy for various marketing materials (emails, ads, fliers, etc.).

An ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal skills with an ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment. The position will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

Duties and responsibilities for Marketing Content Specialist


  • Create original compelling content for both marketing promotions and online articles

  • Create educational and promotional videos

  • Proofreading and editing of marketing promotional materials

  • Read trade journals/newsletters/press releases/marketing articles to gain industry insight

  • Perform analyses on companies (with both internal & external data) for article creation

  • Proofread directory pages and review online database products

  • Adherence and accountability with regards to company policies and values

  • Data analysis for projecting company forecasts and review of historical data for informed writing

  • Website maintenance and SEO review/implementation


Required Qualifications for Marketing Content Specialist


  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 2-3 years copy writing, content-creation, and/or marketing experience required

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in a business environment

  • Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with short deadlines

  • Comfortable with marketing technology and a fast learner of new platforms

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change & instruction

  • Ability to work individually and in a group setting

  • Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design, Acrobat)

  • PPC (Google Adwords) and SEO experience a major plus

  • Familiarity with email & online marketing best practices


Preferred Qualifications for Marketing Content Specialist


  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) a plus

  • Marketing automation tools like IBM Watson (Silverpop), Pardot, or Marketo

  • Experience with WordPress, HTML, and/or PHP
