Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in the production of Hydrogen Fuel Cells in the Henrietta, NY area. They are dedicated to operational excellence and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. We are currently seeking a versatile and skilled individual to fill the role of Handyman and Groundskeeping Specialist to ensure the facility and surrounding grounds are well-maintained and functional.
Pay: $24.00 -$26.00 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: 6:00a - 3:30p, Monday to Friday
Job Summary: The Handyman and Groundskeeping Specialist will perform a range of maintenance and repair tasks within the manufacturing facility and manage the upkeep of the exterior grounds. This role requires a hands-on individual with a broad skill set in maintenance, repair, and landscaping. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to facility management.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- General Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance including painting, drywall repair, and flooring fixes.
- Plumbing & Electrical: Address basic plumbing issues (leaks, clogs) and electrical problems (fixtures, outlets, switches).
- HVAC Systems: Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of HVAC systems, including filters and thermostat adjustments.
- Carpentry: Repair and maintain doors, windows, and other wooden structures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular checks and maintenance on facility equipment and machinery.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and protocols in all maintenance activities.
- Landscaping: Maintain the appearance of the facility's grounds through regular mowing, trimming, and planting.
- Seasonal Maintenance: Handle seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf collection, and other weather-related upkeep.
- Trash Removal: Ensure the exterior areas are clean and free of litter or debris.
- Irrigation Systems: Manage and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Pest Control: Monitor and address any pest issues on the grounds, coordinating with external services if needed.
- Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance or groundskeeping issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory for maintenance and groundskeeping tools, supplies, and materials.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and groundskeeping activities, including time spent, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Collaboration: Work closely with facility management and other staff to prioritize tasks and address any special requests.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or landscaping is a plus.
- Proven experience in handyman services and groundskeeping or landscaping.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, basic plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with landscaping tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Good physical condition; ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual labor, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The role involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
- Physical activities include lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
