Industrial Electricians are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment in industrial facilities.
Their duties include:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components, such as wiring, switch boxes, lighting fixtures and more.
- Performing preventive maintenance and regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely.
- Identifying and fixing problems with electrical systems and equipment
- Following safety procedures and electrical codes, and designing and implementing electrical safety standards
- Keeping records, reviewing warranties, and filing claims
- Preparing electrical blueprints and interpreting technical documents
- Programming equipment as needed
- Ensuring that the electrical system is up to code
