Nesco Resource is seeking a Payroll Analyst for a short term contract opportunity for our client in Columbus, OH.
You will support management in the performance of Corporate payroll/tax responsibilities which includes the preparation of Federal, State and Local tax returns and reporting for companies BCO, PNNL, BSC, BNB and BED. Provides support to internal and external customers for payroll tax inquiries, assistance and data verification. Responsible for researching and resolving payroll tax issues and help manage changes and testing within PeopleSoft system.

Prepares, oversees, and ensures timely and accurate preparation and filing of Federal 941/941-X, Federal 940, state unemployment, state, and local tax forms in compliance with federal, state and local governments.
Audits and balances Payroll Reports to ensure accurate employee tax withholding and W-2 Reporting.
Researches tax inquiries and coordinates audit responses for management, subsidiaries, employees, IRS, state, and local tax authorities.
Prepares and submits W-2, W-2c, Canadian T-4 forms, as well as audits miscellaneous reports to ensure accurate and timely filing. Coordinates and oversees Payroll staff on the distribution and printing of forms.
Reviews tax services and state literature for changes in tax withholding that impact the company and staff members. Communicates corresponding changes to staff members when appropriate.
Assists Payroll Manager with tax update testing to ensure that tax withholding is in compliance with tax authorities.
Oversees, audits, and calculates taxes for business travel, Canadian travel, Columbus IR-22 forms, Relocation, and Payroll tax corrections in compliance with tax authorities.


BA or BS degree in Business or Accounting; three years of tax or accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Expertise in complex accounting and payroll functions, ability to perform standard arithmetic calculations and select and use mathematical formulae for specific calculations.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Word, Excel and other word processing software.
Detailed knowledge of general accounting principles and advanced skills utilizing payroll/accounting software applications.
Above average customer service skills, oral and written communication and organizational skills usually acquired through completion of college curriculum.
Knowledge of applicable Federal/State payroll laws, methods and practices for multi-state payrolls.
