Position Summary

This role focuses on the analysis of healthcare data to support population health management initiatives. The position is responsible for developing strategies to improve patient health outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance the overall quality of care in alignment with value-based contracts. The Senior Data and Reporting Analyst is essential in identifying trends, creating predictive models, and generating actionable insights to drive strategic decisions in population health management. Additionally, this role supports junior analytical staff development and leads technical communications with senior leadership.


Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights for population health management.
  • Utilize advanced statistical and data visualization methods to effectively interpret healthcare data.
  • Apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to model patient outcomes, healthcare utilization, and cost patterns.

Population Health Management Initiatives:

  • Lead and assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of initiatives to improve patient outcomes and manage healthcare costs.
  • Identify at-risk patient groups and create strategies to address preventive care needs proactively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, senior leaders, and other stakeholders to implement evidence-based interventions.

Quality Improvement:

  • Guide clinical staff on implementing and reporting various quality improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate quality metrics and develop strategies to enhance the quality of care.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of quality initiatives, making data-driven adjustments as needed.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal IT developers, external partners, and analytics teams to support value-based care initiatives.
  • Generate and provide data deliverables to payer partners, working with IT teams to ensure accurate submission and quality accreditation.
  • Create reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate data findings and promote shared understanding.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in population health analytics, providing guidance for internal development.

Technology Utilization and Continuous Improvement:

  • Leverage and promote the use of population health management tools, EHR systems, and various software applications in value-based strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in developing data insights aligned with strategic goals.
  • Stay current on industry trends in population health and continuously refine data infrastructure to support evolving needs in healthcare analytics.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to policies and standards.
  • Follow all policies for the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) and participate in annual training to support PHI confidentiality.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Statistics, Informatics, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Epidemiology, or a related field (preferred).

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare data analysis, preferably in an accountable care or similar environment (preferred).

Skills and Abilities:

  • High attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and an independent work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective written/verbal communication abilities.
  • High technical aptitude and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and diplomacy.
