Job Description:
Responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in manufacturing, and operations. Assists engineers, conducts testing and troubleshooting on internal and external complaints. In addition, prepares protocols and reports to perform validation and qualification testing on product and processes. Responsible to properly rework documentation as needed. Performs 3-D modeling directed by engineering, and complete technical elements of project(s).
Position Summary
The Engineering Technician assists Manufacturing Engineering by identifying and implementing production equipment and process improvement opportunities within a chemical manufacturing and packaging environment.
Duties
Monitors existing production equipment and processes and identifies improvement opportunities, including yield improvements, production rate improvements, setup time improvements, and ergonomic improvements.
Assists in the commissioning of new production equipment, including process validation efforts.
Assists in the development and testing of new manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment.
Assists in design and manufacturing transfer activities.
Troubleshoots and recommends solutions to problems with equipment, processes and/or instrumentation as requested
Designs fixtures.
Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Equipment Maintenance to scope and guide work activities.
Required Experience
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field
Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering Technician experience, preferably within the medical industry
Interest and aptitude for understanding, using and troubleshooting automated and semi-automated production equipment
Experience with a variety of diagnostic tools
Excellent analytical skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
CAD experience not required, but a plus.
Experience with HMI and PLC programming and troubleshooting a plus.
Experience with bulk handling and liquid chemistry packaging a plus
Familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA Design Control a plus
