Position Summary:
-
Responsible for analyzing demand (forecasts/orders) and production capacities, deciding the appropriate action plans, and then taking the necessary steps (generating schedules) to ensure we meet customer commitments.
-Additionally, the Planner will work with Purchasing, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers on service issues and process improvement initiatives, and manage overall inventory levels to meet established targets.

Responsibilities:
*Analyzes production capacity, evaluates and manipulates planning to align customer requirements with plant productivity, generates production schedules and releases to production floor
*Monitors availability of materials and components to meet customer requirements
*Collaborates with Customer Service to effectively communicate supply requirements
*Reviews demand via sales orders/forecasts applying appropriate planning logic and strategy to ensure customer demands are met while managing inventory levels
*Manages inventory for responsible products to ensure service and goals are achieved
*Monitors rejected/reworked materials and coordinates replacement needs working with Quality, SQA and manufacturing as needed
*Monitors overruns/Sales excess inventory and applies to future orders
*Manages material costs within budgeted levels and works with vendors to look for ways to maintain and reduce costs through formal supplier inventory programs (i.e. Kanban, Consignment, VMI)
*Schedules/expedites materials from vendors as required to assure availability and optimum manufacturing efficiencies and customer requests
*May coordinate material change requests as needed

Required Qualifications
*Minimum of 2 years of college, Bachelors degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or Operations Management; or equivalent experience as determined by management Experience
*Minimum 4-7 years material planning, inventory control or production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education as determined by management
*Experience in a closed loop ERP system environment

Skills
*Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
*Must possess strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment
*Must possess Intermediate or better PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and email programs such as Microsoft Outlook
*Experience in financial analysis and strategic planning
