JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Engineer will be a member of our sales team and focus on developing business opportunities and relationships with new/existing customers with the goal of growing the resistance welding product categories including new Resistance welders, automation of welders, spare parts, and consumable copper sales. The successful candidate will be technically oriented with strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Candidate will be responsible for direct business development activities including, but not limited to, sales prospecting, lead/inquiry handling & data collection, proposal development, presentations, quoted project follow-up, and coordination of Product Group meetings with new/existing customers. The candidate will collaborate directly with internal Sales Application Engineer for Resistance welders and interface regularly with multiple internal Product Groups to help facilitate sales growth and achieve annual sales bookings goals.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Work with Product Management Team to develop annual sales strategy to achieve sales goals and objectives. Specific annual quota to be established in annual performance goals and objectives.
- Update CRM system for proper tracking of leads, inquiries, and quoted projects from inception through the selling cycle and the capture of analytical data for reporting of new sales opportunities.
- Provide input to Product Management for new product developments to capture short and long-term market opportunities. Be the Voice of Customer.
- Interface and communicate with customers for clarification of inquiries and requests for quotation.
- Respond to customer requests concerning existing and new projects.
- Collaborate with Sales Application Engineer to match customer needs with machines, parts process controls, and automation solutions.
- Follow-up on proposals and respond to customer inquiries.
- Facilitate customer technical and commercial meetings along with Sales Application Engineer.
- Commercial "go-to” person inside and outside of company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA degree, post-secondary technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years technical industrial capital equipment business-to-business sales experience.
- Manufacturing process experience with resistance welding and machine automation/controls experience a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks software products (or comparable products)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
- International/Domestic travel required; approximately 40 - 50% of time.
