Monday through Friday 5 AM - 130 PM and 5 PM- 130 AM, rotates weekly. Schedule may evolve once trained.
Position Summary
This position is an entry level position which reports to the Metal Processing Lead. The incumbent is in the process of acquiring the skills and knowledge required to saw, roll, forge, diffusion bond, condition grind, sort and process reclaim, inspect and anneal titanium as well as other metals and alloys. Initially, all tasks performed require direct supervision.
Position Responsibilities
Learns and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for related area(s).
Learns all safety and emergency procedures applicable to the job.
Perform Metal Processing duties related to Titanium, Non-Ti, and Diffusion Bonding.
Works directly with Metal Processors I and II and Metal Processing Lead until judged to be proficient enough, in a particular procedure, to work independently on the tasks of the procedure.
Trained to be used as an on site inspector at outside converters.
Provides and ensures a safe working environment through cleanliness, good housekeeping and adherence to all environmental health and safety policies.
Must participate in and complete all training programs.
Operates company vehicles to transport product.
Support and participate in all Structured Safety Process activities for this job classification, as outlined in the site SSP Manual.

Knowledge and Skills
High School education or equivalent is a plus
Valid driver's license.
Willingness to learn various new procedures.
Basic knowledge of industrial equipment.
Ability to operate fork trucks.
Ability to use basic math, grasp statistical process control.
Ability to learn how to read micrometers, blueprints and engineering drawings.
Basic operation of computers (data entry and completing tasks).
Good written and oral communication skills as well as sound judgment since this position functions in a complex operating environment.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
Physical Job Demands
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Work in extreme heat.
Must stand on feet for long periods of time.
Will be exposed to loud noise levels.
Operate hand and power tools for long periods of time.
May need a high level of concentration in a busy area.
Working Conditions
Work shifts, 7 days a week, with overtime as required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Job Advancement
In order to advance to the next job level, incumbent must:
Be in present position for a minimum of 18 months.
Successfully complete at least an 80% score on job competency test.
Successfully complete a 100% passing score on Safety Test before advancement can occur.
In addition, no performance/discipline issues can exist and there must be a position available to move to next level.
If passing scores are not obtained, a waiting period of 90 days is required before re-testing can occur.

An Incident report must be completed immediately, within 24 hours, following any workplace injury, regardless of severity.

Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.
Special Considerations: Lifting will exceed 30 Lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant. Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated.
