Job Title: Induction Operator

Job Summary: The Induction Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining induction heating equipment to heat metal parts to specified temperatures for forging, forming, or other manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of induction heating principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Operation:

    • Set up and operate induction heating equipment according to established procedures and specifications.
    • Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments.
    • Use control panels to adjust power levels, frequencies, and other parameters to achieve desired heating results.
  2. Process Monitoring:

    • Monitor the heating process to ensure that metal parts reach specified temperatures and maintain required heating profiles.
    • Use temperature measuring instruments, such as pyrometers and infrared cameras, to verify temperatures.
    • Record process data and maintain accurate records of heating cycles and parameters.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Inspect metal parts before and after heating to ensure they meet quality standards.
    • Identify and report any defects or deviations from specifications.
    • Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to address any issues.
  4. Maintenance:

    • Perform routine maintenance on induction heating equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts.
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  5. Safety:

    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement of safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with induction heating equipment or similar machinery.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and heating processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to handle tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing or production facility.
  • Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery.
  • Use of protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position with potential for overtime.
  • May require shift work, including nights and weekends.
