The Molding Technician is responsible for basic and advanced equipment and process set-up, changeovers, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and basic repair and rebuild. Equipment includes Injection Molding Machines and associated ancillary equipment.
• Perform machine/mold safety checks; perform mold changeovers.
• Perform cycle checks, adjust business plan and prioritize workload according to business needs.
• Make accurate process adjustments to alleviate non-conforming parts.
• Perform mold start-up/QC Inspection; set up gages to perform QC checks.
• Carry out basic cleaning of molds; complete preventive maintenance.
• Utilize MVP in relation to PM tasks.
• Assist Operators as required.
• Process material changeovers – fill barrels, mix materials and ensure traceability.
• Execute basic functions of the Shibaura Injectvisor operator controller – load programs and process adjustments.
• Perform basic troubleshooting when answering machine alarms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
• This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma, or GED required. Technical school background desirable.
• Education requirements may be obtained through an educational institution or gained through equivalent work experience.
• Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience with plastic injection molding equipment desirable.
Work Environment:
• Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
• Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
• Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body.
• Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
