Job Summary
The Agricultural Equipment Technician performs general diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment including tractors, mowers and small gas and electric hand-held equipment.
Candidate must have knowledge of all systems including engines, hydraulics, electrical and transmissions. This job also includes farm implement repairs.
May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment
- Maintains condition of inventory, tools, and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- 3 years of experience performing service repairs or person with technical and mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment, specialty tools supplied but applicant responsible for own hand and power tools
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment. Fuel injection, electronic governor, welding and fabrication experience, all a plus
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment- must have a valid KY driver's license
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred
- Successful completion of drug screen & background check
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 70 pounds or more.
