Electro-Mechanical Engineering Aide needed to fulfill requirements for program designs and fabricate equipment that will be used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware.
We are seeking career individuals who will be fabricating electronic, electro-mechanical assemblies (and sub-assemblies) to Engineering drawings.
Fabrication will include the ability to place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
The fabrication of wiring harnesses will require connector pinning, de-pinning and applying mounting hardware. In addition, these lower-level assemblies are to be built-up into single, or multi-bay cabinet assemblies, for the delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas.
This position will provide the opportunity for the candidate to work as individual contributor, in a team environment. This would include collaborating with Engineers, and other members of the Fabrication team including other Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.
The position will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and occasionally correcting engineering drawings/schematics. Daily activity would include not only a fast-paced fabrication environment, but it would also include using several computer-based programs that will update job status, Quality Inspections, and Engineering changes.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in electrical fabrication (cable and harness, SMT board, test equipment, etc.)
At least 3 years of experience with the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures
At least 3 years of experience with fabricate electrical test equipment designs from a blueprint of the layout, schematic, bill of material, and engineering practices manual as guidelines.
High school diploma
Ability to communicate issues with the design and or the process requirements to management and or design engineers.
Strong knowledge and experience in repairs of electro-mechanical assemblies
Knowledge of basic avionics and electronics
Knowledge of troubleshooting and fault isolation of components using general purpose and/or automated test equipment
Knowledge of automated and/or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators)
Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and industry processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements
Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property
Ability to work with hazardous materials
Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors
Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721
Knowledge of fault isolation for electro-mechanical components
Knowledge of concepts for hardware repair
Experience with CCA component rework and repair
Rework experience with BGAs and electrical maintenance and rework
