The Production Material Handler is responsible for supplying materials to support
production lines by performing the duties involved in receiving components from the warehouse
and ensuring that the quantities are correct.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive all supplies, materials, components and equipment delivered from the warehouse
or obtained from storage areas. Document and identify components with Part
Numbers/Lot Numbers per procedure and distribute to correct locations
Account for all items received and maintain accurate records. Document in Batch
Records as required
Ensure accuracy of received components from the warehouse by checking quantities
against pick tickets or Batch Record BOM's (Bill of Materials). Immediately notify
warehouse of any discrepancies and correct.
Ensure proper segregation between staged lots using chains and other means
Assist with end of line finished goods pallets by transporting to warehouse and ensuring
documentation is completed
Maintain clean work areas
Rotate stack as directed. Follow FIFO/FEFO or other inventory management rules as
directed
Help maintain stock inventory in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
Participate in warehouse inventory activities. Conduct periodic/on-going inventory
counts/audits as required
Assist with production, blending, filing packaging when needed
Potential exists for exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Required
Two years experience in receiving and processing materials for storage and in
shipping product
Knowledge of cGMP procedures, skilled in operating electronic pallet jack
equipment
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to maintain accurate records is required
Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as pallet jacks, rolling stock ladders,
hand trucks, carts, etc. Perform operator's maintenance on assigned equipment
Ability to operate a computer and peripheral equipment. Correctly use bar code
readers and printers as required
Ability to identify and perform improvements in the material handling areas
Use proper judgment and identify potential safety hazards
Work independently with minimal directions. Recognize and ask for direction or
help when needed
Communicate with others clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Follow
oral and written instructions
Lift up to 50 lbs using correct/safe lifting techniques
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Technical Skills and Experience (if applicable)
Bar Code Readers / hand scanners / computer schedule
Education and/or Training
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills and computer literacy required
