Immediate temporary need for a Medical Coder to help our client for approximately 4 – 8 weeks full-time. You must have previous experience with ICD-10 & CPT. This position is located in Shelton CT and you can start as soon as next week!
SUMMARY
Medical Coder-to accurately review and evaluate radiology reports and charts to assist assigning proper coding.
- Review patients chart for held or denied charges for accurate ICD-10 or CPT
- Relay codes for diagnoses, treatments and procedures according to the ICD-10-CM/PCS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting through review of coding critical documentation, to generate appropriate claims.
- · Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3-5 years of Inpatient and/or Outpatient surgical coding experience in hospital and/or office setting. Radiology preferred
· Expert knowledge of ICD and PCS coding systems and MS-DRGs.
· Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and give attention to detail of the repetitive nature.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively with others.
· Certified Professional Coder (CPC)and/or(RCC ) Certification preferred
