Job Title: Parts Procurement & Inventory Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $23.00/hour
Job Type: Full-time Monday thru Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Summary:
The Parts Procurement & Inventory Specialist is responsible for purchasing supplies and materials at optimal prices and maintaining efficient inventory levels. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of purchasing procedures and inventory control systems to ensure the smooth operation of the department. The following description outlines the skills and knowledge required to successfully perform this role.
Overall Goals:

  • Build and maintain business relationships with various vendors to achieve optimal purchasing efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to foster solid working relationships with professionalism.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all procedures and systems related to purchasing.
  • Receive and organize daily shipments of spare parts and facility supplies, and complete necessary documentation in SAP.
  • Notify requestors when their requested items have arrived for pickup.
  • Review and manage inventory activities, including movements, discrepancies, and deletions, to keep inventory records up to date.
  • Report stock issues to management and place product orders as needed.
  • Prepare lists of depleted products and surveys of unusable products.
  • Manage purchase orders, receive and consume inventory, and reconcile spare parts in SAP.
  • Conduct cycle counts of spare parts inventory and update records in SAP.
  • Assist staff with the checkout process of spare parts from the inventory area.
  • Monitor and communicate all transactions for assigned areas.
  • Be flexible to work overtime, assist in material handling functions, and cover for other Inventory Control personnel as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules for the department and the entire facility.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other tasks as needed.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Follow purchasing and inventory control procedures to optimize workflow within the department.
  • Review market conditions, pricing, delivery terms, and trends to determine present and future material sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships to achieve optimal delivery, quality, and price.
  • Negotiate as needed to secure the best terms for delivery, quality, and price.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Essential Skills & Abilities:
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and handle numerous requests from multiple customers daily.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including email, Google Chat, and SAP accounting software.
  • Skilled in accurate cycle counting and consumption of parts and materials using RF scanners and manual counting.
  • Strong note-taking ability and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working well with others in a team-oriented, 24-hour operation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Organized and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and managing time effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and analyze information to resolve issues promptly.
  • Strong customer service skills, managing difficult situations, and responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Committed to quality control, demonstrating accuracy, thoroughness, and applying feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Reliable and dependable, consistently at work on time, and responsive to management direction.
  • Maintains integrity, avoids conflicts of interest, and makes ethical decisions in the best interest of the company.
  • Observes safety and security procedures, using equipment and materials properly and interpreting safety rules and instructions.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree in business is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing and inventory control with demonstrated results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with email and internet usage.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Valid AZ Driver's license with a safe driving history.
  • Must pass a criminal background check with no convictions related to the essential skills of the position, ensuring ethical, safe, and secure job performance.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification.
