Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team on a Part-time basis. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by performing essential tasks such as entering cash receipts, processing payment entries, preparing bank reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements for month-end closings. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure that financial records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Receipts Entry: Accurately enter all cash receipts into the EPICOR system, ensuring proper allocation to accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Assist in the preparation and completion of monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
  • Payment Entries: Record payment transactions in EPICOR, ensuring all disbursements are processed accurately and timely.
  • Month-End Closing: Assist in the preparation of financial statements for month-end close, including balance sheet and income statement.
  • General Ledger Support: Ensure all accounting entries are accurately recorded in the general ledger to facilitate month-end financial reporting.
  • Account Analysis: Perform basic account reconciliations and analyses as directed by the Accounting Manager.
  • Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities adhere to company policies, accounting principles (GAAP), and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Some college degree in accounting preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (internships or relevant coursework will be considered).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with accounting software (experience with EPICOR is a plus).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including basic functions such as formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with EPICOR or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with month-end closing processes.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds of office supplies or documents.
  • Standard office environment.
