Nesco Resource is in search of a Corporate Environmental Manager to work one of our clients based in Fairfield County.

Position Objectives and Responsibilities:

The Corporate Environmental Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective environmental control program, corporate-wide. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with local, state and federal applicable air, water and waste regulations. Will also maintain a positive public image, promote proactive versus reactive approach to environmental aspects of existing and planned future operations and provide direct assistance to all sites for environmental issues. Will also be the Chair of HazMat Transportation Committee, Corporate Security Officer for Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards programs and is the ACC Sustainability Coordinator for the company. The Corporate Environmental Manager will report directly to the President of the company.
 
Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Familiarization with site operations, existing environmental programs, systems and key personnel.
  • Establish and maintain systems to determine the adequacy of environmental programs and systems (train, audit, aid in resource planning).
  • Maintain a prioritized plan to address environmental, security, and sustainability issues.
  • Assist locations in developing, updating, and renewing plans (stormwater pollution prevention plans, spill prevention control and countermeasures plans) and permits.
  • Review capital projects to assure that potential environmental issues are addressed
  • Manage waste disposals from third-party warehouses.
  • Represent the company in trade associations for environmental, hazardous materials transportation, security and sustainability issues.
  • Represent the company at superfund and superfund-like sites by participation in technical committees.
  • Coordinate environmental-related litigation and citations with attorneys, agencies, consultants and site personnel.
  • Review safety data sheets environmental and transportation information.
Required Job Specific Training:
  • Hazardous Materials Transportation Training (at least every two years for IATA and every three years for DOT and IMDG)
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) waste handling – either attend training or lead training.
