Job Title: Track Assembler Location: Cleveland
Shift: 1st and 2nd shifts needed
Salary $18.00 per hour, plus 2nd shift differential of $1.50
As a Track Assembler, you will apply your mechanical skills and expertise to assemble complete track panels, turnouts, crossings, and other rail components, following precise customer specifications.
Key Job Elements and Responsibilities:
- Use specified instruments to inspect completed parts and accurately record dimensions on quality check sheets.
- Demonstrate expertise in utilizing measuring devices, such as tape measures, scales, torque wrenches, and calipers, ensuring measurements are precise to 1/32" and all inspection data is recorded meticulously.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols while operating machinery and equipment.
- Use various hand tools, including grinders, huck guns, and impact wrenches, to secure, attach, and fit rail components during the track assembly process.
- Operate overhead cranes or forklifts to lift, move, and load track segments during assembly and for loading completed products for shipment.
- Identify quality discrepancies and non-conformities, promptly reporting issues to QA and making necessary corrections in line with customer specifications.
- Complete certification for MIG welding and assist in training other employees on work processes.
- Exhibit proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, written work instructions, and other visual aids.
- Bring prior experience with hand tools, pneumatic and electric grinders, impact wrenches, and overhead cranes for moving rail components.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels.
