The engineer applies technical expertise along with strong interpersonal skills to understand customer issues and propose appropriate solutions. This role may involve participation in various stages of the business cycle, including quoting, forecasting, preparing technical documentation, presenting product features and benefits, resolving technical and commercial issues, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and support the sales team with product-related technical presentations, ensuring correct application of products, reviewing customer engineering specifications, preparing quotations, and providing answers throughout the negotiation, production, and post-shipment processes.
- Possess a general understanding of the product range and industry standards (e.g., UL, CE, NEMA, IEEE).
- Develop and maintain knowledge of other complementary product offerings in the industry.
- Draft and review product literature, including manuals, brochures, application notes, success stories, and white papers.
- Conduct product testing in a laboratory setting to evaluate performance characteristics.
- Gain familiarity with competitor product offerings.
- Collaborate with design engineers to resolve technical issues and assist with product specification development.
- Communicate effectively with the sales team and customers.
- Provide training for the sales team and customers, either independently or in collaboration with others.
- Complete additional projects as assigned by the supervisor.
- Adhere to company policies and align activities with organizational objectives.
- Maintain focus on profitability through orders and quotes.
- Review and sign off on quotes as per company policy (if applicable).
Travel Requirements:
- 25% to 50% travel.
Skills and Experience:
- 2-8 years of relevant experience.
- Project management experience with strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
