Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys across various litigation matters and bring expertise from prior work in a litigation firm. The role demands a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and a high level of attention to detail, including proficiency in scheduling, calendaring, and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare routine court documents, including Notices of Appearance, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motion, Subpoenas, Stipulations, and other standard legal filings.
  • Compile and draft legal documents for attorney review, such as discovery responses and affidavits.
  • Request, subpoena, and manage record vendors to obtain medical, educational, and other necessary records.
  • Prepare exhibits and demonstrative evidence for court.
  • Conduct legal research using Lexis/Westlaw and public access websites to support litigation strategies.
  • Organize, analyze, and index medical, educational, and case documents for motion practice.
  • Assist attorneys with trial or deposition preparations and witness coordination.
  • Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
  • Categorize and analyze reports, records, and discovery responses.
  • Record billable time accurately according to firm procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and handle time-sensitive tasks.
  • Proficient in Lexis/Westlaw, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and KOFAX Professional.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
  • Experience with federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures, including e-filing systems (PACER, NYSCEF, e-law/e-track).
  • Basic research capabilities and strong document management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and manage document-intensive cases.

Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Minimum of 3 days per week in-office, 2 days per week remote
  • Occasional overtime as needed
