Job Summary: PLC Specialist

The PLC Specialist plays a key role in supporting maintenance activities and driving system reliability improvements in a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on providing technical expertise, specifically in the area of electrical systems and PLCs, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and training to the maintenance team, particularly in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and electrical systems.
  • Lead long-term maintenance planning to enhance system reliability.
  • Design, specify, and manage the procurement of electrical spare parts and components.
  • Coordinate both emergency and routine maintenance tasks in collaboration with the manufacturing team.
  • Oversee the work order system, leveraging data to improve operations.
  • Assess client needs and collaborate with subcontractors to meet maintenance goals.
  • Maintain and improve preventative maintenance systems, focusing on electrical and control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 4-6 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in electrical systems.
  • Expertise in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems, circuitry, and CNC control systems.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS),
  • Experience with High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) and CNC machine maintenance is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and work in a physically demanding environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards.

This role is ideal for candidates with a solid electrical background, particularly in PLCs, and a focus on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing systems
