Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with a strong background in corporate tax return preparation, tax planning, and tax research. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tax engagements for corporate clients, ensuring compliance with deadlines, and overseeing various tax-related functions, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage tax engagements to ensure compliance and meet all deadlines.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships of varying complexity.
  • Prepare and review current and deferred tax provisions in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and year-end estimates to aid clients in tax planning.
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships.
  • Lead engagement planning, organization, and delegation to optimize efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Manage engagement economics, including billing, collections, and team profitability.
  • Mentor and train staff, assisting in their professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with a focus on corporate and partnership taxation, including recent tax compliance experience with a regional or national public accounting firm.
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in tax provisions is preferred.
  • Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Professionalism, dependability, and trustworthiness with a cooperative attitude.
  • Highly motivated and able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience at a national or regional accounting firm is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation and research software such as ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, CCH, RIA, BNA, etc.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to contribute to a sales-driven culture and expand tax practice.

Education & Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Advanced degree in accounting, tax, or law is highly desirable.
  • Active CPA license is required.
