Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician I will select, measure, and prepare electrical wiring and perform instrument startup, calibration, and function and safety testing on the product. The Electrical Technician I will be
mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assemble, install, and perform functional and safety tests on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses).
• Follow blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). Track inventory of project parts and supplies.
• Validate the quality of wire harness assembly.
• Teardown and rework donor harnesses.
• Collaborate on cross functional project teams.
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Education and Experience (required):
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years previous experience required.-
Education and Experience (preferred):
• Certificate in Engineering Technology or related.
• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
• Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work overtime and weekends.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
• Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.
