Nesco Resource is sourcing for a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a Tier One Automotive Supplier in Waren, MI.
Shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm
Pay rate: $32.26hr
Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, continuous improvement, and new installations on facility grounds, equipment, and infrastructure with minimal supervision. This role supports manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently and professionally while ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, power distribution, plumbing, process water systems, cooling towers, and other facility-related systems.
- Maintain and repair building infrastructure, including lighting, load docks, utility drops, floors, and sewers.

Preventive Maintenance
- Perform daily inspections of assigned facility areas, documenting findings and addressing discrepancies.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to improve uptime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance systems and tasks when needed.

Installation & Upgrades
- Perform new installations of facility systems, ensuring alignment with schematics and documentation.
- Update drawings and prints, suggest spare parts and replacements, and assist with upgrades as needed.

Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to mechanical and electrical codes, government regulations, and company safety standards.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe after repairs or installations.

Diagnostic & Technical Support
- Utilize electrical meters, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve problems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform tasks per outlined work instructions.

Other Duties
- Assist with projects and assignments as directed by supervisors or management.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes, standards, and government regulations.
- Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with superior troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and performing installations or repairs independently.
- Familiarity with HVAC, power distribution, plumbing, pumps, motors, cooling towers, and carpentry.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Qualifications

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman's card or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to pass a Facilities Maintenance Technician aptitude test.

Preferred:
- Prior experience in a Tier One automotive or manufacturing environment.
