Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and safety-conscious Logistics Assistant to support the transportation of vehicles between various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. This role will involve coordinating and overseeing the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Transport Coordination: Assist in planning and executing the safe transport of vehicles from one location to another, ensuring all logistics are managed smoothly and efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all transport activities comply with local, state, and federal transportation laws, including safety regulations and vehicle handling standards.
- Route Planning & Scheduling: Help determine the best routes for vehicle transport, taking into consideration traffic, weather conditions, and delivery deadlines. Adjust plans as needed to avoid delays and optimize efficiency.
- Vehicle Inspections: Assist in conducting pre- and post-transport inspections of vehicles to ensure that they are in proper condition before and after transport. Document and report any damages or issues.
- Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, including transport schedules, delivery confirmations, and inspection reports. Ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Inventory & Fleet Management: Assist with tracking vehicle inventory, ensuring that vehicles are properly accounted for and ready for transport as scheduled.
- Vehicle Loading/Unloading: Support the safe and secure transportation with that proper techniques are used to avoid damage during the process.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any transportation-related issues that may arise, such as delays, damages, or customer inquiries, and escalate matters to senior logistics personnel as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or transportation certifications are a plus.
- Proven ability to coordinate logistics operations and manage vehicle transportation.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to vehicle transport.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances quickly and effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant software for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving various types of vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in the physical loading and unloading of vehicles when necessary.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Field-based, requiring travel to various locations for vehicle pickup and delivery.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet transportation deadlines.
