WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN QC Lab Technician I

Monday - Friday, 7am-4:00pm
Temp to hire
Garland, TX
$20/hr.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Perform organoleptic and chemistry tests. The position involves high volumes of repetitive work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Calibrate lab equipment as needed.
  • Inspect lot codes/batch codes for correctness.
  • Collects, prepares and evaluates samples for testing.
  • Visually inspect the integrity of container/closure systems.
  • Perform organoleptic and chemical analysis on bulk products and finished goods.
  • Proficient with the wet chemistry techniques.
  • Assess data quickly to identify and report OOS and OOT data.
  • Transcription of raw data to laboratory notebook and reports of analysis.
  • Release of bulk products from manufacturing to packaging.
  • Comply with Company SOPs and Policies.
  • Update logbooks.
Cover lab personnel as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety standards by adhering to all company safety policies and wearing appropriate and required PPE.
  • Familiarity with the use and function of common laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to follow written direction to perform procedures in the QC laboratory.
  • Proficient with the wet chemistry techniques.
  • Working knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs, 21CFR111, 210, 211 and 117, ISO and GLPs.
  • Ability to comprehend basic chemistry and mathematics.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Sit, bend, squat, kneel, turn, twist and stoop.
  • Reach forward and overhead. 
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
  • Stand/remain upright up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Manual dexterity skills to use testing equipment and perform tests.
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Minimum of 1 year of industry work experience with a High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Entry level position with Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science.
  • Previous work experience in food, drug, dietary supplement and/or cosmetic manufacturing plus.
