The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various material handling assignments. Responsible for truck load and unloading of merchandise of raw material and other equipment. In charge of supplying the production lines and injectors with the necessary materials.
 
  • Complete a visual inspection of the forklift using an inspection sheet form at the beginning of each workday. Must notify of any malfunction or breakage finding.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading wagons of finished goods, aluminum coils, customers, and suppliers. Must process receiving and dispatched documentation through the organization system. 
  • Obtain production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
  • Manage and pile drums, skids, pallets, aluminum coils, recycle material and other supplies in specified areas as requested.
  • Responsible for compacting the discarded carton material.
  • Responsible for taking physical inventory of raw material.
  • Ensure finished good circulation between the production line and the warehouse.
  • Responsible of daily production log and loading truck log. 
  • Identify “hold” product and secures it in the designated areas.
  • Store the product accordingly to its code and the expiration date following FIFO procedures.
  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of the trucks with secured chocks and jacks.
  • Apply understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
  • Ensure the organization and cleaning of the work area at the end of every shift.
  • Notify of any accident that has caused the loss of product, equipment, and facilities.  React over any discrepancy of the products received.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Follow and ensure compliance of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the current Food Safety System.
  • Use personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Sit, stand, and / or walk for periods of five hours or more, move and examine objects at high and low reach, and read for periods of three hours or more.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occassionally and regularly stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. This position also requires manual dexterity / fine motor skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • At least six months of related experience required
  • Available to work weekends, overtime, holidays, and rotating shifts
