Accounting Assistant: Hybrid Role in Nassau County
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and code vendor invoices and ensure proper authorization
- Input vendor invoices into Aderant accounting system
- Process vendor payments, obtain signatures for checks and mail out payments
- Review vendor statements
- Investigate payment inquiries
- Research uncashed checks and reissue as needed
- Process journal entries
- Assist with matter maintenance in Aderant
- Record incoming wire transfers
- Prepare check deposits and record in Aderant
- Process client credit card payments
- Investigate incoming payments with no remittance information
- Assist with trust/escrow activity
- Ad hoc requests and special projects
EXPERIENCE
- College degree or working towards a degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Experience with Aderant or Chrome River a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
