Nesco is seeking an IT Support Engineer L3 to be onsite at an MSP in Ashburn, VA on a full-time basis.
Salary range: $85k-100k/yr, depending on experience
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and monitor the operational activities of data, voice, and video networks, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and security.
- Analyze network functions, evaluate service performance, and develop actionable recommendations with milestone tracking and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership, support team development, and ensure efficient ticket resolution while enhancing technical expertise and adherence to processes.
- Communicate with clients to maintain up-to-date procedures, ensuring support agents can accurately and efficiently complete tasks.
- Monitor network utilization trends, optimize performance, and implement capacity planning to ensure maximum uptime.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, troubleshoot system issues, and manage software upgrades, file sharing, and domain security protocols.
- Oversee VMware infrastructure, unified communications systems, DMZ configurations, and network security implementations.
- Develop and execute network management and maintenance plans, including policies, operational improvements, and backup procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and service providers to design and implement campus-based LANs, resolve connectivity issues, and manage cabling systems.
- Configure, administer, and manage firewall clusters, multi-site policies, and security frameworks.
- Apply expertise in network domains, technologies, and protocols, including routing, switching, firewalls, and unified collaboration tools.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in network management.
- Lead project planning and execution with a focus on efficiency, security, and reliability.
- Implement and maintain system backup and recovery procedures.
- Provide strategic recommendations with potential budget impact.
- Develop and implement effective networking and telecommunications solutions.
- Assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and operational demands.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with security policies.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail.
- Work effectively within established schedules and deadlines.
- Minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in setting up and managing Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco firewalls.
- VPN setup, configuration, and administration.
- Dell and Cisco switch setup and administration.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Logic Monitor.
- Strong understanding of QoS, MPLS, VPLS, VLAN tagging, Radius, BGP, and OSPF.
- Willingness to travel for client site visits.
- CCNP Certification required.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect all personally identifiable information.
