Job Summary:
The Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Technologist I will support engineering testing for research, development of vehicles, products, sub-systems, components, or materials. This role is responsible for setting up and executing tests by collecting data, using specialized equipment, control software, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. The role will ensure that testing is carried out according to procedures. The NVH Technologist I will consolidate test results and prepare reports for internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up test equipment.
Conducts tests, document test set-up and process test results.
Verify testing accuracy, thoroughness, and determine if additional testing is needed.
Identifying NVH/DURABILITY or testing issues and help to develop countermeasures.
Clearly communicate test results.
Perform minor automotive mechanic work as required for testing.
Complete part changes as required for testing.
Completes additional tasks as needed.
Education and Experience (required):
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in NVH testing or similar experience.
Good driving record.
Education and Experience (preferred):
Associate degree in a technical field.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):
Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: powertrain and driveline NVH,vehicleNVH, modal analysis, mount systems, acoustic and damping materials.
Knowledge of instrumentation, test equipment, and data processing techniques.
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multi-task and be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
Knowledge of NVH testing & analysis software: Siemens Simcenter Test.Lab, National Instruments Labview, MTS Flextest.
Ability to diagnose and solve NVH problems using experimental and analytical resources.
Skilled at processing data and general knowledge of the underlying math.
Ability to operate powertrain or chassis dynamometers.
Ability to develop and construct custom test stands.
Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
