Commercial Land Development CAD Drafter

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Land Development CAD Drafter to join our clients team in Springfield, MO. This role involves working closely with engineers, architects, and surveyors to create detailed drafting and design work for commercial, municipal, and industrial land development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent attention to detail, and experience working on site plans for retail centers, office parks, industrial facilities, and other large-scale commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting and Design
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to produce precise technical drawings for commercial land development projects.
- Prepare site designs, grading plans, utility layouts, stormwater management systems, and zoning configurations for commercial properties.
- Work closely with engineers and surveyors to ensure accurate representation of parking layouts, loading zones, drainage solutions, and accessibility compliance.
- Interpret project specifications, sketches, and survey data to develop technical drawings aligned with commercial site requirements.
- Ensure all drafted plans comply with municipal, state, and federal regulations, including ADA guidelines for commercial spaces.
- Stay informed about zoning laws, permitting requirements, and environmental impact considerations affecting commercial developments.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and commercial real estate developers to meet project objectives.
- Participate in client meetings to understand unique commercial property requirements and site constraints.
- Conduct thorough reviews of commercial site plans to identify and correct errors.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all drawings, revisions, and project specifications.
- 5 years of experience in CAD drafting for commercial land development projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Technical school degree or coursework in civil engineering-related drafting preferred.
- Strong understanding of grading, utility layouts, and commercial zoning requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
