Nesco Resource, 14 time winner of the Best in Staffing Award, is looking for a 3rd shfit Material Hander for a Direct Hire opportunity for a reputable North Royalton facility. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experiecne, been cerrtified on a forklift, and can work independently or as a team.


Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for coordinating and supporting all materials and resins required to manufacture plastic injection molded products through mixing colorants with resins, delivering raw material to presses and removing finished goods from the production floor.

This is not a job where you are an order picker and will be sitting on a tow motor 95% of the day. It is an active and vital role to our production group that is a combination of using electric pallet jacks, climbing and working on/around injection molding presses, entering data into our ERP system to assist with managing inventory levels, and some-to-little tow motor use.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supplying production machines and work cells with required types of raw and packaging materials
  • Retrieve different resin materials.
  • Mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigment according to supplied formula in Process Books.
  • Material handling and manually switch over materials used on machinery.
  • Perform daily machine inspections, and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Support the Molding Process Technicians with the operation of Battenfeld injection molding presses, ranging in size from 65 to 720 tons, to inject products from thermoplastic materials.
  • Support the mold changeover process through execution of cleaning of dryers, loaders, and material bins.
  • Performs cleaning and calibration responsibilities and records performed tasks on corresponding documentation
  • Assure first in-first out and material identification are maintained in documentation system.
  • Issue and return materials through Epicor (ERP).
  • Maintains tracking barcode label on transport bins and transports finished bins to designated areas
  • Tracks and records component lot number changes to ensure accuracy of documentation
  • Move materials, supplies, and components from warehouse and transports to molding production area; or from the molding area to the warehouse.
  • Contributes to keeping the receiving and warehouse areas clean and organized
  • Recycle packaging materials.
  • Operates forklift or pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials and products
  • Completes administrative duties such as data entry, resolving minor issues, and making cardboard or plastic bales
  • Works according to safety regulations at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately
  • Other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and airborne particles
  • Constant bilateral simple hand grasping.
  • Continuous visual sensory demands: near acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying a maximum of up to 40 lbs.



Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Prior experience in warehouse environment and/or industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Customer focused from both an internal and external perspective.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to obtain Forklift license and operate a motorized forklift
