Plant Manager - Fasteners


A plant manager needs to be knowledgeable across multiple disciplines and employ strong organizational skills. From navigating complex regulations to troubleshooting supply chain glitches. Will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of a Cold-Forming manufacturing plant. It is their job to ensure that production goals are met while maximizing overall plant performance. Responsible for developing processes that improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Will possess several essential skills, including organizational ability, leadership capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, process improvement knowledge, and strategic thinking acumen which allows them to successfully manage their plant operations daily. Will ensure maximum efficiency while meeting production goals set by management teams or stakeholders involved in running the business operations smoothly.

Strategic Vision and Critical Thinking:

  • Understanding how the various aspects of plant operations interact with each other, as well as how changes in one area can affect others.
  • Identify potential problems before they arise and take preventive measures to ensure optimal production processes.
  • Ability to set long-term goals and strategies that are designed to improve employee productivity, reduce energy costs, or both.
  • Defined objectives that will help guide day-to-day operations while ensuring that continuous improvement efforts are taken.
  • Have an overall knowledge of the Cold-Forming industry trends to make informed decisions about future strategies and goals.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, communicate change clearly and effectively, so that their employees have a clear direction on how to best proceed.
  • Able to properly allocate resources depending on changing needs while keeping sight of the company's longer-term goals. Being able to manage both short-term crises as well as long-term development projects on a day-to-day basis .

Financial Management:
  • Financial management having a good understanding of budgets and costs, analyzing data for decision-making, and forecasting revenues and expenses, ensure operations are running smoothly and with minimal costs.

  • Requires knowledge of the specific cold-forming equipment being used as well as familiarity with problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Must understand quality control standards and be able to enforce them daily.
  • Must ensure that all raw materials meet quality requirements as set by industry regulations.

Organization & Planning Abilities:

  • Ability to create systems for efficient production, prioritize projects based on set objectives, and establish clear schedules that meet delivery deadlines.
  • Have a thorough understanding of operations management and production scheduling to ensure all daily operations run smoothly.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or engineering discipline
  • Understanding of Cold-Forming manufacturing methods and techniques including but not limited to heading, milling, turning, grinding, honing, die polishing, gauging, heat treating, coatings, etc.
  • Understanding of materials such as Carbon, tool steels, stainless steels and their behavior during manufacturing processes such forming, machining, etc.
  • Experience working with Tool Room Specialists/Machinists in fabrication of dies, punches, knock out pins, etc.
  • Prior experience in the operation of Cold Heading equipment.
