WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN QC Analytical Chemist I

Monday:Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Status:Temp to Hire
Location: Garland, TX
Starting Contract Rate: $24.00/hr.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
  • Performs analytical works with instruments. We are looking for someone proficient in GC-MS and troubleshooting with experience with method development.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
  • HPLC, troubleshooting and routine analysis
  • GC/MS, troubleshooting and routine analysis.
  • Develop new methods for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Write and execute analytical validation protocols.
  • Document record data and review.
  • Write and/or update SOPs for new analytical methods or equipment.
  • Coordinate removal and disposal of the chemical waste with EHS department.
  • Coordinate calibration or maintenance equipment when necessary.
  • Assist in ordering laboratory reagents and supplies.
  • Comply with all safety policies and regulations.
  • Assist the Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor/Manager in other areas.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Working knowledge in general chemical quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of theory and operation of GC/MS.
  • Knowledge of theory and operation of HPLC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with 21CFR 210, 211, 111 and 117, cGMPs, GLPs and ISO.
  • Independent and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong background in instrumental analyses and analytical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have good record keeping skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Sit up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Stand/remain upright up to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, turn, twist and stoop.
  • Reach forward and overhead.
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate science discipline, preferably chemistry.
  • Minimum 1-year analytical method development and validation experience, in a regulated facility.
  • Previous work experience in food, drug, dietary supplement and/or cosmetic manufacturing preferred.
