JOB SUMMARY:
The distribution team members are responsible for executing the day-to-day tasks in the distribution center. They work under the supervision of the Distribution Center Manager to ensure timely and accurate handling of goods. This role is responsible for performing an array of duties for the shipping and receiving department. Working in a fast-paced environment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure shipments are processed on schedule. Prepare orders by picking and packaging materials from stock according to schedule. Processes receiving by unloading material/inventory to the correct stock area or departments.
Key duties include:
- Receiving Goods : Unload, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments.
- Order Fulfillment : Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to specifications.
- Inventory Management : Assist with stock checks, inventory tracking, and replenishment of goods.
- Shipping : Ensure orders are shipped on time by preparing packages, creating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. Filling out paperwork, marking shipments, and cross-checking paperwork.
- Warehouse Organization : Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment to ensure efficient operations.
- Equipment Operation : Safely operated forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed. Must wear safety equipment and dress appropriately for the position.
- Quality Control : Inspect products for quality and report any defects or discrepancies to the Distribution Center Manager.
- Packaging, labeling, and building pallets for orders.
- Loading staged orders and unloading trailers/flatbeds with sit down forklift.
- Use of different types of machines that require manual dexterity such as shrink wrap machine, hand tools, scale, miter saw, strapping machine, and other tools as needed.
- Keeping inventory stock area clean and organized during the daily job functions.
- Housekeeping, disposing of trash, sweeping, organizing, and other clean up duties.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Warehouse Experience
- Forklift Experience
- Must have manual dexterity in both hands.
- Must be capable of verbal communication.
- Must be capable of bending, stopping, lifting 40-60 lbs.(recognizing when to team lift), standing, or sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be capable of reading tape measure, and gauges.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
