Whether you're a recent graduate with an Associate's Degree or have a few years of experience in mechanical/piping drafting/design, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to real-world projects. Full-time opportunity as a contract-to-hire solution, daytime work schedule and our offices are located just a few minutes drive outside the city of Rochester, NY. 100% on-site, professional office environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar software. These drawings will depict various aspects of industrial equipment, including layout, dimensions, and specifications.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and designers to review and adjust drawings based on feedback. Your attention to detail will ensure accurate representations of equipment components.

Piping Route Design: Assist in developing piping route designs for industrial equipment. Learn from experienced engineers and contribute your insights to optimize pipe paths, connections, and support structures.

Material Take-Offs: Prepare material take-offs, including pipe, fittings, and valves. This information is essential for cost estimates and project planning.

Compliance Check: Learn and apply layout rules specific to piping design. Verify distances between runs, positions of welds, and openings.

Reports and Documentation: Assist in extracting reports from modeling software and reviewing bill of material reports. Gain hands-on experience in checking and ensuring accuracy.

Qualifications:
Education: An Associate's Degree in Design, Technical, Engineering, Drafting, or related fields is preferred. If you're a recent graduate, we encourage you to apply!
Programs: Intermediate proficiency in CAD tools (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks) is required.

Desired Skills and Traits:
Technical Curiosity: Eagerness to learn and apply piping design principles. Familiarity with general piping standards (e.g., API, ASTM) is a plus.
