Nesco Resource is currently seeking a Senior Tax Associate for a large CPA firm in Houston, Texas. This position involves preparing federal and state tax returns, assisting with tax planning and consulting, and representing clients in IRS matters. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of professional experience, strong tax knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required, and CPA certification is preferred.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Prepare international informational tax returns.
- Assist with tax planning and consulting projects.
- Conduct tax research and prepare memos, analyzing the application of relevant tax regulations.
- Represent clients in IRS matters, including audits by the IRS and state tax authorities.
- Compile and analyze financial statements.
- Perform monthly write-up services.
- Write monthly articles covering recent federal and state tax law changes.
- Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of professional experience, ideally in public accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
- Strong accounting skills.

Education and Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Actively pursuing CPA certification, if not already obtained.
