Job Summary:
The Dimensional Analysis Technician I will perform and maintain component dimensional analysis equipment and measurements. The role will provide analysis reports to engineers. The Dimensional Analysis Technician I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in measuring hard points and 3D laser scan data for individual components and complete assemblies using a variety of manual devices, and Laser Scanning, Fixed & Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). (60%)
• Setup and tear down of components on surface plates. (10%)
• Participate in interpreting technical dimensional documents. (10%)
• Prepare technical dimensional analysis results in various format for distribution. (10%)
• Perform regularly scheduled calibration checks and maintenance of CMM equipment. (5%)
• Participate in daily surface plates clean-up in preparation of upcoming projects. (5%)
Education and Experience (required):
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous experience required.
Education and Experience (preferred):
• Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Metrology or related.
• 1 year of technical, automotive or related experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):
• Detail oriented, effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service skills and ability to work overtime.
• Ability to follow directions, learn new skills and technologies, multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Ability to start and complete projects with minimal supervision or oversight.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
• Strong math skills and a good understanding of geometry.
• Knowledge of automotive components.
• Ability to navigate and understand CAD Models and PolyWorks software.
