Driver/Shipping Assoc FIRST SHIFT 1 opening
Full Time Position for an individual who is able to daily move between duties that include: driving our fleet of vehicles; some dock work and as needed, support our Shipping Dept job functions to serve the needs of business in a job shop environment.
(1) Position1 st Shift: Mon – Friday 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
REQUIRED:
^ Current Motor Carrier Card necessary.
^ Good driving record and history for insurability purposes (under 2 points)
^ Previous experience in similar position (3 years)
^ Forklift experience
^ Experience driving both Manual and Automatic transmissions: Ometek Fleet of vehicles: Soft side 24 ft. bed box: Manual / 26 ft. bed box trucks (Automatic) / Industrial Transit Van
^ Physically fit/ able to meet the demands of working full day in a production environment
^ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs / manual dexterity / sitting, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing / pulling
^ Mechanically inclined and familiar with the use of hand and air tools
^ Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
^ Attention to detail
^ Requires high school diploma or equivalent
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Driving / Delivery: Loading vehicles / Experience utilizing Forklift and pallet jack / Good Customer Service attitude and presence
- Local deliveries: Majority of trips are local to Columbus and surrounding areas: could include runs to Pitts/ PA, etc. but NO OVERNIGHTS
- Truck maintenance (follow company procedures re; inspections at start of shift: tires, lights) check fluid levels / cleaning interior cab regularly / NO TOBACCO use
- Prepare Skids and product for shipping: Prep skids: retrieve product to ship / secure it to skid without damage to freight/ use of straps / secure product to truck itself via racks, etc.
- Experience with Banders; both (metal and plastic) / Shrink Wrap Machine
- Some receiving activities: Loading / distribution to proper area (knowledge gained on the job)
- Verify loads that are taken to and from Ometek
- Software knowledge to make shippers / labels /
- Dependable / good representative / customer presentation/
- Other duties as assigned.
