Job Title: New Product Introduction Technician
Location: Westborough, MA
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00/hr
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician to join our team. This contract-to-hire role focuses on assembling complex medical devices in Phase 3 (Design Verification) and Phase 4 (Clinicals). You will work closely with the project team, including engineers and project leads, to ensure seamless transitions from design to production. As part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll be responsible for assembly, quality control, and operator training while maintaining high standards in a controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble complex medical devices with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure minimal scrap and engineering rework during assembly
- Complete quality assurance records accurately and on time
- Identify non-conforming assemblies and communicate issues to the project team
- Perform inspections of components, assemblies, and finished goods (incoming, in-process, final)
- Suggest process improvements to enhance production efficiency
- Support training of operators on assembly tasks
- Assist with equipment setup, build preparation, and line breakdown
- Help with inventory management, including kitting and cleaning components
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the project
- Adhere to Controlled Environment Room (CER) procedures and best practices
- Assist with maintenance of CERs and broader facilities
- Use microscopes and other tools to manipulate small objects for extended periods
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and processes
- Fast learner who can efficiently pick up new processes
- Ability to lead a variety of manufacturing tasks with minimal supervision
- Proficient in using basic measurement tools (rulers, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges)
- Experience using hand tools, microscopes, and cutting instruments (razor blades, etc.)
- Ability to read and comprehend complex manufacturing work instructions
- Pre-employment drug test and background check required
