We're seeking a motivated expeditor/purchasing clerk to play a key role in our supply chain operations — ensuring purchase orders are placed, processed, expedited, and received on time to keep production running smoothly. Position is located in Wayne County, approximately 35 minutes from Rochester NY. This is a contract-to-hire position, full-time, on-site 100% of the week, with a daytime work schedule.
Pay Rate: $22-$25 an hour depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Review supplier acknowledgments; enter relevant information into company ERP system.
• Correct any part number or pricing discrepancies with supplier as needed.
• Schedule and verify purchase deliveries and monitor shipments to ensure materials are received within specified timeline.
• Maintain expedite information with daily, weekly and monthly reporting
• Proactive responses to delivery changes by immediately notifying Buyer, Purchasing Manager and Production Supervisor as needed.
• Work with Quality Control to resolve supplier quality issues
• Work with Accounting Department to resolve billing issues
• Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an office environment
• Functional use and knowledge of Microsoft Office and applications to include Word and Excel
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Communicate professionally (verbal and written) in a timely manner and is conscious of critical deadlines.
• Ability to learn and apply new information quickly with attention to detail
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production scheduling
• Self-driven work style with minimal supervision
