We are seeking a Financial D ata Analyst to support financial reporting and revenue recognition processes by analyzing data and generating actionable insights. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, optimizing reporting processes, and collaborating with multiple departments to improve data accuracy and business intelligence. As the Financial Data Analyst you will use SQL and Power BI to create reports and dashboards that help finance and accounting teams make informed business decisions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily standups and communicate processes to the finance team.
  • Act as a Data Analyst helping with financial reporting metrics.
  • Analyze reports from the Phinsys system, including data for top accounts, monthly write-offs, financial metrics, revenue splits, and cost analysis.
  • Work with the finance team to decipher metrics and answer questions.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure approvals from the finance team.
  • Ensure data integrity in financial reports and dashboards.

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst focused on financial reporting
  • SQL: Proficiency in basic queries, navigating databases to identify & analysze financial metrics.
  • Accounting: Basic understanding of financial metrics, including revenue, cost, KPIs, and ASC 606 compliance standards.
  • Data Navigation:
    • Ability to translate Phinsys financial metrics into reportable dashboards preferred
    • Work with backend databases to extract relevant metrics for Power BI reports.
    • Navigate and work within data cubes (mostly using Excel).
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysi
  • Documentation:
    • Ensure all finance-related reporting requirements are properly documented.
    • Work with QA teams to create user stories and acceptance testing.
    • Organize and document processes for ASC 606 compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, QA, and BI Teams.
