Job Description: Packaging Operator
Location: Blair, Nebraska

Schedule: 12 Hour Shifts (Pay Week: Monday thru Sunday)
Example of Shift Schedule: Starting June 2nd

DESIRED SKILLS :
Ideally, the candidate would be OSHA certified as a forklift operator. If not certified then on-site training will be provided. Regardless all candidates must be able to follow, understand all forklift safety requirements and pass forklift certification. Warehouse experience utilizing packaging or feed packaging machines is very desirable but not a must have.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Packaging Operator is a multi-hat role. You will be working with a team of three, running 3 packaging machines that resemble feed packaging machines for bagged products such as: L-Lysine granular and Methionine granular. The whole packaging team is certified in forklift, so this is a must to utilize the forklift. You will also be required to help in occasional instances to load/unload granular product into rail cars and round tank trucks. Loading and unloading requires very small amount of physical ability but you will also be outside in open air/COVERED station. There is one Liquid product, Alca Oil that resembles fish oil, that we also support for loading only. For fish oil all loading arms are machine operated from a loading deck.
Packaging Duties : Packaging & Forklift support. Pull product off packaging line. Recording pallet counts accurately on the production sheet. Place pallets neatly for S=Forklift Staging Team. Work Packaging Lines. Operate packaging equipment to produce totes and 25kg pallets. This includes bag adjustment. Equipment knowledge and understanding will be given during training. General troubleshooting techniques will be learned. Responsible for identifying and moving/dumping damage product sacks into reprocessing machines per requirements.
Everyday General Sanitation Duties: Cleaning up product spills within the warehouse. Sweeping and cleaning the interior of warehouse. Wiping down and keeping all equipment, railings, bumpers and shelves/walls within the warehouse clean. Participation in and support of quality related activities and safety programs including training on Feed Safety, Product Quality, & Environmental Safety and Health programs. Miscellaneous Projects related to the warehouse as needed.
We have a small team that is cross trained in every station. You will receive training and expect to understand after training how to operate all machines effectively and responsibly.
