Billing Specialist - Temporary-to-Permanent Opportunity!

Hours: 
Full-Time, M-F, 8am-5pm, with flexibility (40-hour work week)
HYBRID ROLE - 4 days week remote/1 day/week in-office
Duration: Temporary-to-permanent hire!
Pay rate: $23-24.04/hr.
Location: Remote, and 1 day/week in Schenectady, NY OR Syracuse, NY

Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join its team and support billing and collection processes for a vital health-related program.

This is a unique opportunity to work mostly remotely—4 days per week from home and 1 day per week in the office. If you have a passion for healthcare billing and want to contribute to meaningful work, this role could be perfect for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Review and reconcile billing in internal platforms.
  • Verify prior authorizations and eligibility with relevant specialists.
  • Submit invoices for various programs, ensuring timely and complete submissions.
  • Monitor and resolve claim issues and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure positive partner experiences.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and information.
  • Stay informed about Medicaid requirements and program changes.

What You Bring:

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience in accounting or business.
  • 2 years of healthcare claims billing experience (Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare).
  • Familiarity with ePACES/eMedNY and RCM systems preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and solve problems effectively.
