Essential Job Functions (Including but Not Limited to):
- Oversee the development of policies and programs to mitigate environmental impact and protect employees from health and safety risks.
- Champion initiatives to identify facility risks, prioritize risk reduction measures, and drive the closure of recommendations.
- Provide active and positive leadership to foster a safety-minded culture and drive continuous EHS improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulatory requirements.
- Audit facilities or processes to identify weaknesses or risks and proactively develop and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure consistent and professional communication with customers.
- Lead projects and provide guidance as needed.
- Develop EHS training requirements and ensure completion at all levels.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly Safety and Environmental metrics and reporting.
- Drive improvement in behavior-based observation systems and culture.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an emergency response plan that meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Organize and lead teams/committees to identify and implement safety improvements, waste reductions, and resource conservation.
- Act as a role model for all associates and adhere to core company values.
- Exercise supervisory authority over employees in the EHS group.
- Establish guidelines for maintaining employee training records and other documentation.
- Design, recommend, and administer safety improvement initiatives.
- Handle local and regional safety responsibilities.
- Maintain professional and consistent open communication within the organization.
- Demonstrate a challenging spirit and innovation through continuous improvement in daily processes.
- Exhibit timely, informed decision-making using genba practices.
- Maintain a customer service focus, ensuring and protecting customers' best interests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum / Preferred Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills):
- 5 years of progressive EHS work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in managing a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements and technical aspects.
- Proficiency in computer use and Windows-based applications.
- Experience in safety incident classification, investigation procedures, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Experience with implementation/certification of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Comfortable developing and delivering training and motivational presentations.
- Familiar with warehousing processes to drive safety within those environments.
- Flexibility to work different hours as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred).
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) (Preferred).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) (Preferred).
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred).
- Certified Quality Technician (CQT) (Preferred).
