Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Extrusion Press Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate extrusion process equipment and perform tasks to ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate extrusion process equipment, including continuous extruders, pullers, trimming equipment, and other machinery.

  • Accurately read and interpret measurements using a tape measure to the 1/16 of an inch.

  • Utilize small hand and power tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, hand drills, routers, rivet guns) and powered machinery such as drill presses, power saws, pneumatic and hydraulic punches.

  • Follow established quality, manufacturing, safety procedures, and work instructions (both verbal and written).

  • Set up and adjust production equipment according to job requirements and specifications.

  • Mix raw palletized plastic stock and pigments for the extrusion process, loading materials into the extruder as needed.

  • Perform self-inspection of work output and ensure adherence to work instructions and inspection plans.

  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records in compliance with procedural requirements.

  • Interpret production orders, drawings, and specifications to determine production needs.

  • Count, wrap, package, and label both in-process and finished products according to instructions and requirements.

  • Assist in the training and development of new hires and transferred personnel once qualified.

  • Transport materials and finished products manually or with manual handling equipment (e.g., handcarts, pallet jacks). Upon qualification, operate a motorized forklift.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating extrusion equipment or related machinery is preferred.

  • Ability to read and measure accurately using a tape measure to the 1/16 of an inch.

  • Familiarity with small hand and power tools, as well as powered equipment (drill presses, saws, punches).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate production and inspection records.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and transfer materials manually or using equipment such as handcarts and pallet jacks.

  • Forklift certification preferred but can be obtained upon successful completion of operator training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting are required.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
