Job Title: 3rd Shift Extrusion Press Operator

Shift: 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Extrusion Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate extrusion equipment and perform various tasks to ensure efficient production and quality output. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate extrusion process equipment, including continuous extruders, pullers, trimming equipment, and other related machinery.

Accurately read and measure with a tape measure/ruler to 1/16th of an inch.

Use small hand and power tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, powered hand drills, routers, rivet guns) as well as powered machinery such as drill presses, power saws, and pneumatic/hydraulic punches.

Perform job duties according to quality and manufacturing procedures, work instructions (both verbal and written), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and safety protocols.

Set up and adjust production equipment as required based on job assignment.

Mix raw palletized plastic stock and pigments, load materials into the extruder as necessary.

Conduct self-inspections of work output to ensure compliance with work instructions and inspection plans.

Complete and maintain production and inspection records as per job and procedural requirements.

Determine production requirements from orders, drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Count, wrap, package, and label both in-process and finished products according to work instructions and procedures.

Upon qualification, train or assist in training new hires and transferred personnel.

Manually transfer stock and finished products, using handcarts or pallet jacks. Upon successful completion of operator training, operate a motorized lift truck (forklift).

Perform additional duties as assigned by management or the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:

Ability to read and measure with a tape measure/ruler to 1/16th of an inch.

Previous experience operating extrusion equipment is preferred.

Knowledge of small hand and power tools, as well as powered machinery (drill presses, power saws, pneumatic and hydraulic punches).

Ability to follow both written and verbal work instructions and quality standards.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Forklift certification preferred but can be obtained upon successful completion of operator training.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required.

Standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting are required.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, following safety procedures and protocols.
