Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure the highest quality standards for our optical products. The CMM Programmer will collaborate with engineers and production staff to develop inspection processes that enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CMM programs for optical components and assemblies using PC-DMIS or similar software.
  • Conduct measurements and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
  • Analyze measurement data and prepare detailed reports on findings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMM operations and programming.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on CMM programming and operation techniques.
  • Continuously improve measurement processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in CMM programming and operation, preferably in an optical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and familiarity with various measurement techniques.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with optical measurement systems and techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management standards.
