This position will support a development and equipment management group responsible for ***'s automated manufacturing platforms. The position will be based out of ***'s Concord, NC manufacturing plant. Occasional travel within NC may be required. Typical working hours are 8am – 5pm, M-F, with occasional opportunities for remote work as tasks allow, based on manager discretion and performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work closely with ***'s CAD Department to maintain accuracy of equipment drawings in both 2D and 3D space, ensuring drawings are technically accurate and follow both ASME and *** specific drafting standards.
• Work with internal technical teams and external suppliers to resolve and document obsolescence issues.
• Ensure accuracy of equipment BOM's, documentation, and stock room parts through the use of ***'s Engineering and Document Change processes.
• Generate part drawings and models to support minor equipment changes related to process improvements.
• Assist development teams with proof-of-concept and improvement projects through hands-on interaction with automation equipment and follow-up process monitoring activities.
• Interact with machine shops to clarify drawings or address machining concerns
• Assist in hands-on installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated equipment as needed
Qualifications:
• Education: A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree or A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree. In lieu of a degree, 5 years of applicable work experience will be considered
• Proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software or similar 3D CAD software
• Windows PC and Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word)
• 3-5 years' experience with automated equipment systems including air cylinders, valves, sensors, motors, and drives.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand/power tools and various measurement equipment
• Familiarity with electrical control systems a plus, but not required
